New York Crime Families
The Corleone Crime Family is one of the Five Families operating in New York. It was formed by Don Vito Corleone and the two men who would later become his Caporegimes, Pete Clemenza and Salvatore Tessio, who fronted their operations by starting the Genco Pura Olive Oil Company.
They became the most powerful family in America after defeating Salvatore Maranzano in the 1930s and bought a Compound in Long Beach.
The Barzini crime family is one of the most powerful of the Five Families, second only to the Corleones. It is run by Don Emilio Barzini and operates out of Midtown, the richest district of New York.
The Barzini Family owns a total of three warehouses in Midtown and Hell’s Kitchen, which enables them to do business in two of the five districts of New York.
The Tattaglia crime family is one of New York’s Five Families. It was founded by Don Phillip Tattaglia. They are well known to be involved in prostitution run from the St. Sebastian Hotel in Brooklyn.
They were the first Family to begin working with narcotics sometime in the 1930s.
The Stracci crime family is one of New York’s Five Families, operating in New Jersey. They are run by Don Victor Stracci. They were considered to be the most violent family. Corleone caporegime Peter Clemenza describes them as pure fuckin’ evil.
Business wise, the Straccis control an armada of highway repair trucks. They also have enough political influence to allow their trucks to travel overloaded, which damages the highways, however, the Straccis also own road repair businesses which had exclusive government contracts, leading one business to create work for another. Due to Don Stracci’s old fashioned nature, they have little involvement in prostitution, but due to their location, they have a small drugs racket. They also ran a hub in the rail yards of New Jersey, that was considered to be one of the most well defended businesses in New York.
The Cuneo Family is a small operation ran out of Hell’s Kitchen, they see themselves as noble warrior princes and thus will not attack any other Family without just cause. On the other hand, if they are slighted, the Cuneos will attack with ruthless aggression.
Their front company is a fleet of milk trucks that deliver across the city, which earns their Don, the nickname of ‘The Milkman’. They also have a large cigar and weapons racket running out of their hub in Hell’s Kitchen, managed by Enzo Cuneo.
